The Cheapest & Easiest way to get a quick jump in your score is to change as many of your lightbulbs as possible to LEDs.
If you are unsure what type of lightbulb you have already, then ask the assessor prior to the visit for advice.
The assessor may have some LED bulbs to swap on the day, (starting at just £2 each, dependant on size, shape, type).

You can install it yourself, buy it from your local DIY Store / Builders Merchants or even online.

Upgrading to a minimum of double glazing from single glazing will also save you a lot of money on lost heat & your return on that investment could take just a few years. Triple Glazing will increase your score further.
In addition, modern double glazed units do have better security features.
